Police Jurors: 15 Jurors are elected to serve 15 single-member districts covering the entire parish. Term of Office: 4 Years Beginning of Current Term: January, 2008 Salary: $1,200.00 per month (effective 1-1-98) Officers: President and Vice-President are elected annually in January and may not succeed themselves. Meeting Location: Police Jury Meeting Room, Calcasieu Parish Government Building, 1015 Pithon Street, Lake Charles, LA (corner of Gill and Pithon Streets). Meeting Schedule: Two regular meetings each month usually on the first and third Thursdays. Committee night is held each month usually on the fourth Thursday. The agenda for the first regular monthly meeting is finalized by the Agenda Committee on the monthly committee meeting night immediately preceding said regular meeting. A proposed agenda is presented to the Agenda Committee, with action on deletions and/or additions taken by the committee. All agenda items for the second regular monthly meeting shall be submitted to the Administrator's office no later than noon on the Friday prior to said regular meeting, and a proposed agenda shall be mailed to all Police Jurors on that Friday afternoon for study. Action on recommendations of the Parish Planning Commission relative to all current zoning cases, road abandonment cases, subdivision acceptances, amendment to the parish zoning ordinance, etc. are taken at this regular meeting.
